My Delhi trip of 2 weeks, introduced me to this “Surajkund Festival ” which was an epitome of culture, gastronomic food, tribal showcasing their talent, a crowd gathering to experience each country or state within 40 acres. I visited the festival along with Gaurav, where Mr. Santosh Mishra, MD of Chhattisgarh Tourism invited us as this year “Surajkund Mela’ state tourism was “Chhattisgarh”.Surajkund Craft Fair is organized by the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Culture-Government of India in collaboration with Haryana Tourism.
At the festival a visitor can expect to experience Indian craft items, offering visitors the exquisite paintings, textiles, wood stock, ivory work, pottery, terracotta, stonework, lacquer work, mirror embroidery work and cane and grass work.I was so exicted to see these items, that I actually shopped quite a lot from there, which now decorates my collection back home on the walls. The food for the festival is something you can’t miss. OH My GOD!! I must have tried various types of dishes from Chhattisgarh make -shift stall, but I do regret not to try others as well.
