Does it sound yummy already, Brunch ? Well thats what Sunday Brunches are suppose to be.. Sumptuous, lavish, relaxing, exciting. Renaissance Mumbai – Sunday Market Brunch was something like that for me.
Alongside the scrumptious brunch at Lake View Café, the hotel in association with Smallfry Co hosted various fun Sunday Markets where some had creative paper art to be walled, where some stalls had ethnic jackets to show off on your blue jeans, some to has to show various reasons for your skin to glow.,etc And these all stalls with artisan products where by various home entrepreneurs and enterprises
The Sunday Brunch was a perfect opportunity for me to indulgent in gourmet dining experience and did recharge me for the week ahead. I was accompanied by another food critic Arindam Basu who is also NEC Social Media Consultant.
I started with variety of salads as I was on very strict diet to lose some extra fats gained from my Kerala Trip. So you are correct, I did an exception this time, I couldn’t manage to diet and tried this lip smacking food :).
Cold Cuts like Salami Milano was full red and not hard enough to try on. Crispy Bacon, eggplant with pommery dressing had the right taste to complement the tender eggplant. . But I think for me , the salad winner was Mushroom and cherry tomato. As salads are supposed to be very fresh, yet craving for one is something I had when I was trying salads here.
Renaissance hotels Brunch is always known from years to be the culinary of Narnia..
So I was definitely sure that, brunch here is going to be tempting after heavy weekend. Being a big fan of Arabic food after being in Qatar for a while, the next grab was mezze platter.
So I moved swiftly in the huge restaurant, where the brunch was completely full with various mix of tables with corporates for workshop, family pleasuring around and walking against each stall to look for something for their kids, some tables where filled with international guests who definitely where relishing on India food.
Well the chat section was something which could have been better, but yet Aloo tikka was good though.
Indian mains which was quite talked was Bhuna Gosht, and vegetarian butter panner tikka was quit filling. Western like Roast potato , rosemary had very great mix of herbs in them. Now there was so much different tingling food around that I was already full and couldn’t try much food.. But still being food lover and living jut to eat, I tried the grill section.
Pepper and cheese skewer and corn the cob were greatly grilled and had the right marinating mix as well. Thai red curry was great mix and then I started to think if eat anything beyond this I might have to stretch down In this hotel.
Keeping some space for amazing desert, Macroons, Jalebi , pies is what I hogged on for another 25 minutes.
To reduce all the calories I gained, I visited the stalls for Sunday Market stall. Jus Divine where serving a range of juices, QT Fun, was stall for toys and play-sets for kids. For the health conscious, Healthy Delights were serving serve healthy indulgences, Once- F which is clothes brand, Travellers Trove displayed artistic accessories which was very much inspired by the travels done by two girls. Pride of Cows where offering organic milk and when they offered it to us we somehow managed to escape from there. Shuddhi – natural beauty products, Wechitrart – wall art, Unwind – colourful handwoven basket bags which would go very well with ethic dresses you wore and sheer beach cover ups and finally Teekhii Chhurii showcasing some unique paper cut designs.
We purchased the paper art cut designs which was definitely unique as great work and it was made from single sheet of paper.
Sunday brunch at Renaissance is to be divined on after heavy weekday and live up to the lip smacking food and creative stalls .
