Mocktail Trail in Resort Rio, Goa

Goa has always been my second home, where I feel lucky to be staying around, at about only 500 kms from it. Sometimes, I regret not belonging to North India, where there is mountainous landscape engulfing you all around. But then, Goa is a place which is close to my heart.

I think in 2014, I must have done more than 15 trips to Goa for various occasions, such as reviewing a new car, going for a monsoon wedding, a trip to unwind from my mundane life from Mumbai, and trip with friends even. However, this trip to Goa was special as I was going to spend my time with my childhood buddy Dilshad Burman after more than 10 years, as she has shifted to Canada.

About Dilshad Burman

She is an award-winning TV host and Canadian media personality. With a background in English literature, theatre and radio, she moved to Canada to study Television Broadcasting and is based out of Toronto. Starting out as a news editor, Dilshad is now well known for hosting four seasons of the Canadian Screen Award nominated, urban culture show ‘V-Mix’ on Omni Television. She has received rave reviews in the press and graced the covers and pages of several publications.
In March 2015, she was presented with the ‘Most Promising Media Personality Award’ at ANOKHI Media’s prestigious annual awards ceremony.

About Goa

Goa is definitely a place you need to visit more than once. It is not a place you cross off your bucket list saying “Destination visited”. Goa is famous for beaches, full moon parties, New Year parties, night markets, food, slow laid back life, etc. The combination of Portuguese colonialism & the present style of international travelers is pretty much why Indians take a local break to Goa to unwind from the mundaneness of life. There are numerous beautiful resorts in Goa. If I have to count, I must have made more than 67 trips to Goa and stayed in more than 50 places there.

Now this trip was just to unwind ourselves, catch on Canadian stories, think of how we have grown over times. Out of the 6-day trip, we decided to pamper ourselves at this lovely luxury abode called “Resort Rio,” with some lovely drinks to go with our meal. There are than 100 hotels in Goa in different styles, sizes, locations, etc. Choose wisely whenever you book, because we moved to a different place just a night before, as we didn’t quite like the stay there.

Mocktail & Cocktail Trail on Sunny Afternoon at Resort Rio

I would say “Luxury, Hospitality, Warm” are all the adjectives I can relate to for this beautiful five-star resort on the banks of Baga river. We were picked up from our stay at Anjuna, and brought to this massive lobby on sunny afternoon. The resort is known for its Architecture and hospitality. Even if you check Tripadvisor, this hotel has only positive & warm reviews to his place. The resort has variety of facilities such as a lovely pool, outdoor activities Mamma Mia – Ristorante Italiano & Pizzeria restaurant, Pickled Mango – All Day Dining Multi-cuisine Restaurant, Jalsa – A Pure Vegetarian Gujarati restaurant attached with a vegetarian kitchen & many other dining options as well.We decide to go with Mamma Mia and their extensive menu for Cocktails & Mocktails.
