5 Off Beat Stays In India !

Travel

From 2001, I have always stayed in the local home stay, to cherish local culture, experience local food, feel safe as a solo traveler and explore offbeat & undiscovered places. Where Indian hospitality is always referred to as “Best Hospitality”, most tourists miss experiencing this by staying in hotels. Myindianstay.com has now made it easy to hunt for these homestays. Homestays are the best way to support eco-tourism & responsible tourism where locals of the village can have a sustainable life. Scrolling various destinations & lovely properties-Off beat stays- they have under one place, I decided to experience them during my next travel. 1. Untouched…

How to Survive as Vegetarian On a Roadtrip in India ?

Travel

Recently, Rutavi, who is taking part in the Rickshaw Run 2015 asked me for a few tips on how to stay vegetarian on the trip, and our conversation resulted in she asking me if I could write a proper article on” how to stay vegetarian on a road trip”   So, here we go! 🙂 Being a vegetarian on a road trip isn’t an easy task; but it definitely isn’t unachievable, especially in a country like India! A 2700 km road race sure isn’t a cake walk and if your stomach isn’t well taken care of, you are in for…

The Grand Grape Escapade! Renaissance Mumbai

Events

An exciting grape stomping activity was hosted on 15 February, 2015 – Sunday at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel. This was the concluding activity of a week-long Grape Fiesta in association with Grover Zampa Vineyards that was hosted at Mumbai Express from 8th February, 2015. Add fruit to the fiesta! Grapes make traditional dishes not-so-traditional!     There were grape tarts, grape mouse, grape pastries, grappa tiramisu and even grape wine pannacotta. These recipes of casual nature, delighted the palate with a small blend of grape fruit.   On the last day of Grape Fiesta, which is 15 February, a Grape…

Indian Travel blogger on Rickshaw Run 2015

Travel

Now I had always thought of doing adventure travel in very different way from regular “Travellers”. What is the only thing more insane than the roads of India? A 2,700 kilometer (1,700 miles) two-week long race across the country on three wheels! An Indian woman riding Rickshaw across Jailsamer to Shillong is something crazy adventurists. This is RICKSHAW RUN  -A 2,700 km pan-Indian adventure in a 7 horsepower glorified lawnmower. The Rickshaw Run is easily the least sensible thing to do with two weeks. No set route, no back-up, no way of knowing if you’re going to make it. The only certainty is that…

If you have planned a trip to the very beautiful Hampi, don’t forget to make a trip to Aihole, Pattadakal and Badami rock cut cave temples.
