After watching the Mars movie, which was shot in the Middle Eastern desert of Wadi Rum- Jordan, which serves as the backdrop for the movie made me very intrigued to go and see this beautiful country. Many of my blogger friends visited this country last year while I was traveling across India. Reading about Petra, Jarash, Roman theater, Wadi Rum, Aquaba, Madaba, and Nebo, on their blog I had already taken a visual trip of this magnificent country. This is one of those times “going offbeat, being un-touristy” just makes no sense. For me a traveler, I like a country with soul. Jordan, is believed to have it.
So why am I talking about Jordan, well it is obvious, I am invited by Jordan tourism board for a ‘6-day FAM trip’ to see humbleness, dramatic landscape of the country. We are around 19 bloggers from India who would be travelling together to create memories from here.
Visit Jordan App
I am a pure mobile app person. When I heard they have Visit Jordan app, I immediately downloaded and started to read the history of each place. I enjoy knowing the place are hand so as a traveller you know what needs to be done. If you are planning to visit Jordan, I would highly recommend to download it.
Couple of places I am visiting
I am taking you on a photo journey of a few places I am visiting. Isn’t it fun to see how the place looks virtually and then discovering the beauty live? 🙂 I truly enjoy doing this. Hope the virtual journey with me continues during the trip as well!
Temple of Hercules and the Ummayad Palace.
Deep within the deserts of Jordan lies the ancient city of Petra. Through a narrow gorge, it emerges into view, revealing awe-inspiring monuments cut into the various styles.
Dead sea has always intrigued me with this name. Finally, I get to read a book in the sea. A The Dead Sea, also known as the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west.
The announcement of the Al Maghtas (baptism) site in Jordan – believed by many Christians to be where Jesus was baptized.
One of the most revered holy sites of Jordan where Moses was buried and a center for pilgrimages since earliest Christian times.
Evason Mai’n Hot Springs
Rated as the “Top 10 romantic hotels in the world“. Now I should go hunting there for my better half too 🙂 Never know I would find my dream man here!
